Brand new album!!! Well here it is, the one we have all been waiting for. After three groundbreaking albums over the course of a decade, the internationally acclaimed electronica project Shpongle has returned from what fans feared was the end of the project when ‘Nothing Lasts…but Nothing is Lost’, their third album, was released. Not prepared to leave us hanging, electronic music pioneers Simon Posford and Raja Ram have continued to push the envelope and break even more boundaries to create yet another sonic masterpiece: the much-awaited fourth Shpongle album, ‘Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland’.
Saint Germain des Prés is more than a district of Paris, it is a whole universe on its own. Cut to small, smoky jazz clubs where artists and intellectuals would meet, witnessed by the likes of Albert Camus, Boris Vian and Jean-Paul Sartre. This quartier was also responsible for the post-war Be-Bop movement. This 11th volume of the St.Germain Café series celebrates just this heritage, with homage to the Jazz scene by today’s dance scene. This demanding and eclectic selection cuts a path through the latest jazz trends, with the welcome participation of Belleruche, who oversaw the mix of the second CD. Belleruche’s sound - a mix between hip hop, electro and blue - is unique, and took its influences from Sarah Vaughan’s voice, Django Reinhardt’s guitar, and Cut Chemist’s mixing desks. This trio from Brighton is made up of by Kathrin deBoer (voice), Ricky Fabulous (guitars) and Dj Modest(desks).
Splendor In The Grass, the fourth album from the celebrated and beloved 12-piece little orchestra Pink Martini, will be released November 02!! The record is the follow-up to the band’s wildly successful 2007 release Hey Eugene! Splendor in the Grass is composed of nine original songs and four covers, with songs in English, Neapolitan, Italian, French and Spanish. The album also features four guest stars
